The Phoenix Coyotes acquired center Matthew Lombardi with the hopes of adding scoring depth to a team in desperate need of offense. Lombardi, however, is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury that could keep him out for a “significant amount of time,” according to GM Don Maloney. Lombardi missed nearly all of the 2010-2011 season with a concussion after a career-season with the Coyotes the previous year.
