Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene is expected to miss a significant portion of the 2013 season after undergoing back surgery to repair a herniated disc. Greene was injured during the season opener and is expected to miss at least eight weeks following the surgery. Greene appeared in 82 regular season and 20 playoff games for the Kings last season, scoring a career-high 15 points and adding six in the postseason.
