The energy company providing power to the Superdome tweeted on Sunday night that the Super Bowl power outage came from the Superdome side. The company, called Entergy New Orleans, said it was providing power to the Superdome during the outage.
With the Baltimore Ravens leading the San Francisco 49ers 28-6 early in the third quarter of Super Bowl XLVII, the power abruptly shut off inside the stadium. The resulting delay lasted about 34 minutes.
The NFL issued a vague statement after the outage: “Stadium authorities are investigating the cause of the power outage. We will have more information as it becomes available.”
Entergy said that it is continuing to work with the Superdome to address the issue:
Power issue at the Super Dome appears to be in the customer’s side. Entergy is providing power to the Dome.
