Baltimore Ravens cornerback Cary Williams will not be fined or punished for shoving a referee during Super Bowl XLVII. Williams shoved linesman Steve Stelljes following an Ed Reed interception, but was not penalized or ejected for his actions. He said that the shove was unintentional, and that he wasn’t trying to harm the official. The lack of a penalty has drawn criticism from many over the past week, including former NFL VP of officiating Mike Pereira, who felt that Williams should have been ejected.
