The Montreal Canadiens have traded right wing Erik Cole to the Dallas Stars for right wing Michael Ryder, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
Ryder’s value was high after scoring 35 goals and 62 points in his first season (2011-12) with the Stars. The 32-year-old has scored six goals and 14 points so far this season.
The Canadiens reportedly were looking to deal Cole and his $4.5 million cap hit through next year.

I'm hearing Ryder and a third round pick for Cole. Cole has this year and two more years at $4 million. Ryder can become UFA—
