NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell recently spoke with TIME and while discussing player safety offered up a new alternative to the kickoff, which is one of the more dangerous plays in football. After a team scores, instead of kicking off, they would get the ball at their own 30-yard line on 4th-and-15, where the options are to go for it (which replaces the onside kick) or punt (which replaces the kickoff). It's just an idea -- not something that's being implemented.
